In the Under 2’s we have been working on developing children’s fine motor skills playing with posting boxes, art and puzzles with the older children and lots of floor time with a variety of toys for the younger children to look at and reach for.
We have spaces available in our Under Two’s room so if you know anyone with a young child who needs quality care and education please let them know we are here.
Kia ora friends and whānau
We have had a busy couple of months, with our nature based programme now up and running and many more exciting excursions happening.
We have been enjoying visits to the Taitua Arboretum and Pukemokemoke Reserve for our nature excursions.
Some of our older children also got to go to the theatre production, ‘Songs of the Sea’ at Clarence Street Theatre with their Mums.
Following some children’s interests in animals we also planned an excursion to a small farm, where the children could interact with many different animals, such as horses, goats, pigs, ducks, chickens and dogs.
These excursions allow the children to interact with the natural world, the community and people outside of the comfortable world of Creche.
This promotes social development, oral language development, risk taking and exploration and much more. Remember if you would like to come out with your child on an excursion please see one of the teachers and arrange a day.
Campus Creche @ Fraser celebrated its First Birthday on 9 May. It has been a busy and rewarding year for us and we thank all the parents who were able to make it for the party to celebrate with us.
We will be planning our annual Matariki celebration shortly so keep an eye out for information about this. It will be late in June or early in July.
