Kia ora whānau
We have had a great couple of months with trips out into the community and nature-based programmes happening regularly, along with lots of fun and creativity happening back here at Creche.
We enjoyed our school holiday period with our tamariki and got busy with our older tamariki creating tissue paper outfits. These were designed and created by some of our tamariki and then modelled.
We had a great “Books and Breakfast” morning before the holidays, and we would like to thank all those who made it on the day. Reading to your tamaiti provides precious time together, it fosters closeness, fuels the imagination, develops listening skills and builds language. We will be holding another event in November so please join us if you are able. Details will be finalised and put out later this month.
We have welcomed Gaylene Puke into the Under Twos room and she will be with us until the end of the year. Shortly we will also have Yurika Arai stepping in as a qualified kaiako to help in the Under Twos team for 6 weeks. This is due to Kim being away and Becca stepping in to help us out in the kitchen.
We are starting to get some warmer drier days and at times like these tamariki love getting into the sandpit, digging holes, and getting themselves buried. Sometimes we have the hose going in the sandpit and we see imaginations running wild. We will be encouraging tamariki to wear sunhats as the sun makes more of an appearance and will be sun screening them also. If you would like to sunscreen your tamaiti before they come to Creche that is great, just let us know when you arrive that you have done this.
